NEVER UNDERESTIMATE the power one person can make.  You may be familiar with the story of the STARFISH.  Well, here’s a true story that will touch your heart.  Things take time, do not grow weary of doing good!

More than 30 years ago, a teenager named Jadav “Molai” Payeng began planting seeds along a barren sandbar near his birthplace in India’s Assam region.

In 1979 the floods had washed a great number of snakes onto the sandbar. When 16-year-old Payeng found them, they had perished in the sun.

“The snakes died in the heat, without any tree cover. I sat down and wept over their lifeless forms,” Payeng said.

“It was carnage. I alerted the forest department and asked them if they could grow trees there. They said nothing would grow there. Instead, they asked me to try growing bamboo. It was painful, but I did it. There was nobody to help me.”

Now, that once-barren sandbar is a sprawling 1,360 acre forest, home to thousands of varieties of trees and a variety of wildlife — including birds, deer, apes, rhino, elephants and even tigers.

Saving Lives

If you have not been bitten by the video’s, I’d like to encourage you to check them out.  These short, informative, insightful and inspiring talks are wonderful ways to stay on top of events and people.

For example, tonight I watched Eli Beer on TED med.  CLICK HERE – The fastest ambulance.  This passionate man found a brilliant way to make a difference by saving lives.  His idea has been embraced and crosses cultural and religious barriers.

My hope is this would spread though out the world and the fear of “being sued” would not stop people from acting out of love to help one another.  For LOVE is the great emotion and all things are possible through it.

2012 – The 4th Annual Tweak the Treat – VIDEO!

Take a moment and view the 2012 Video.  This is a Post Halloween Event focusing on total wellness:  Head, Heart and Body.  Created by Lucy DelSarto.

As a wellness ambassador and coach, my passion is to help others improve their quality of life. My TCOY (Take Care of You) Wellness philosophy is to address the whole person for well-being.

I wanted to inspire others and create an event to bring families together, get people physically active and show our gratitude to our US Troops.

The Sunday following Halloween, kids and adults bring in their excessive treats, fun activities and guest passes are provided; participants then write notes to be included in the care-packages sent overseas to our troops.

The event continues to grow every year.  Check out past year video’s on YouTube under “Tweak the Treat”…and share with others.
