How Dreams Take Flight

When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.  Henry Ford

TAKE FLIGHT ~ DREAM BIG for you were designed for greatness!

John Maxwell’s article points out 5 Reasons Why Dreams Don’t Take Flight

1. We have been discouraged from dreaming by others.

2. We fall into the habit of settling for average

3. We are hindered by past disappointments and hurts.

4. We lack the confidence needed to pursue our dreams

5. We are missing the imagination to dream.

As an athlete and entrepreneur, dreams and passion fuel the mind and heart with the fuel to persevere when others quit. Fear and doubt are replace with tenacity and sheer persistence to make dreams a reality.

In 2009, Steve Jobs describes the rules of success (LINK). He states, “You need a lot of passion for what you’re doing because its so hard. Without passion, any rational person would give up. So if you’re not having fun doing it, if you don’t absolutely love it, you’re going to give up. And that’s what happens to most people, actually.”

I believe we grow old when we stop dreaming.  Too many teens and adults feel beaten down with a defeated mindset. The memory of past dreams not coming true begin to paralyze their dreams and desire to pursue them.

Granted, there is heartache and pain when dreams don’t come to be but it’s really about the journey not the destination.

Every day we are blessed with opportunities to make a dream a reality and if you can’t achieve yours, realize you very well could be able to help make another person’s dream come true.  Seize the day!
