Recently, I came across a story told by Brian Dyson, former CEO Coca-Cola. With the economical struggles impacting so many lives, I felt it was important to share.

“Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them – Work, Family, Health, Friends and Spirit and you’re keeping all of these in the air.

You will soon understand that Work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back.

But the other four Balls – Family, Health, Friends and Spirit – are made of glass. If you drop one of these; they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered.

They will never be the same. You must understand that, and strive for it.”

The racquetball picture is a great visual. I’m use to balls zooming around me at 100mph on the racquetball court and in life.

Life happens! Can you relate too?

  1. It’s always a challenge to keep things in perspective, but if you don’t, you end up do a poor job at everything. I recommend Juggling Elephants. It’s a great book that can help you prioritize.
