Rest & Relaxation

As an entrepreneur, an athlete and over-achiever, I certainly can relate to this brief e-note I received from Rick’s message for today. How about you?

Are you burning the candle at both ends? Stressing and Worrying? Your body was not meant to be pushed 24/7 with limited rest, fuel and relaxation. Disease comes from DIS – EASE (work on the ease part my friend); your body will respond positively with some TLC …tender loving care. My escape and outlet is working out, whether I’m on the racquetball court, gardening or taking a hike or walk. Physical activity provides both psychological and physical benefits. You’ll sleep better too!

My TCOY Challenge for the day and for your life is to take time for you and be in the moment…it’s all any of us really have.

Be Well and Remember to Take Care of YOU!

Rest and Relaxation

Dr. Bryan Robinson, author of 25 books on psychology and family, estimates that one-fourth of the population could be classified as workaholic. In a Wall Street Journal article about vacations, Dr. Robinson discussed the difficulties many workaholics have taking vacation.

Vacations can be stressful for those who feel guilty for not working, yet God designed us for rest and vacations.

In Numbers 29:12 God commanded, "On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work. Celebrate a festival to the Lord for seven days."

If you’re like me, I can sometimes find it difficult to carve out much time for vacation. Remember, if God demanded it, he also provides for it. So schedule some time off and enjoy.
