Purpose of Life?

Author and homorist Leo Rosten once wrote: “I cannot believe that the purpose of life is to be happy. I think the purpose of life is to be useful, to be responsible, to be copassionate. It is, above all to matter, to count, to stand for something, to have made some difference that you lived at all.”

Well said! The greatest pleasures are those that we have reached out and helped others and made a difference. Being a coach for almost three decades now, I can honestly say I LOVE coaching as much as playing. Granted I love my workouts and competitions but the excitement of seeing success in another after helping them, well, it’s priceless. This is available for EVERYONE…everyone is a leader, yes, everyone is a leader. Children and adults are watching you and will follow your lead. What are you teaching and sharing with them? Are you quick to anger and impatient? Do you see the opportunities available every day to us to make it a little better by offering a smile, kind word or gesture of good will?

If you haven’t watched the movie “Pay it Forward”, I’d highly recommend it. Here’s , it’s an older movie with a good story line. Enjoy…if you’ve seen it, share your thoughts.
